An Icelandic children’s educational musical program called Lazy Town is the childhood of many who are now in their twenties. The animated series based on Áfram Latibær!, a 1991 children’s book, premiered internationally on Viacom’s Nickelodeon on August 16, 2004. The show was a hit as it expanded to 4 seasons with 104 episodes, the final episode airing in October. 13 2014.

Lazy Town has produced many spin-offs, including LazyTown Extra, a short-form television program created for younger viewers. The series is long over, but adults still find themselves reliving episodes of their favorite kids’ show on YouTube. One of the most beloved characters in the Sportacus series was played by Magnús Scheving, an aerobics champion who was also its creator.

Now let’s take a look at the actors behind the characters in Lazy Town and how their careers have developed since the show ended.

Cast members of Lazy Town

1. Magnus Scheving

Role: Sportacus

Magnus Scheving, an athlete from Iceland was the brainchild behind LazyTown. After excelling as an aerobics athlete locally and internationally, Magnus, aka Maggie, realized there was no blueprint for a healthy lifestyle, so he wrote on the importance for children of book Áfram Latibær. After successfully franchised Lazy Town, Maggie stepped down as CEO of Lazy Town Entertainment in February 2015. He then focused on running ROK Restaurant, a Scandinavian/seafood restaurant in Reykjavík.

2. Stefan Karl Stefansson

Role: Robbie Rotten

Icelandic actor Stefan Stefánsson was active in theatre, TV shows and film, however, his role as villain Robbie Rotten in Lazy Town was his most notable. About two years after Lazy Town ended, Stefánsson was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the age of 41. After liver surgery, Stefansson was declared cancer-free in August 2017. However, in March 2018, it was announced that the cancer had returned and was inoperable. He must now hope that the chemotherapy will keep him alive for a very long time. Stefan is married to actress Steinunn Ólina Þorsteinsdóttir and they live in Los Angeles with their three children.

3. Julianna Rose Mauriello

Role: Stephanie

Mauriello played the role of rose-wearing Stephanie for seasons 1 and 2 before leaving the show after invading the role. Since leaving Lazy Town, no information about Mauriello has come to light in the media. Maybe she decided to quit acting? She was last seen by the media when she and Chloe Lang made a video calling on Lazy Town fans to donate for Stefan Stefansson’s health.

Chloe Lang was chosen to replace Julianna RoseMauriello for the role of Stephanie. And she did that justice. While in Lazy Town, Lang starred in Mask Face (2011) and My Brother Jack (2013). However, since the end of the series, nothing has been said about Chloe’s career.
