Authorities in Somerset County say a Boswell man is facing charges after several files of child pornography were allegedly found on his computer.

Police say the investigation began in late 2021 after Snapchat reported images of suspected child sex abuse being uploaded.

Upon further investigation, authorities say the files were traced to an IP address in Jenner Township.

Investigators say on Wednesday morning, troopers executed a search warrant at the home of 21-year-old Declan Heider.

Police say that during the search, multiple files depicting child sexual abuse were found on Heider’s desktop computer.

According to online court records, Heider is facing multiple counts of felony child pornography, as well as charges of disseminating images of child sex acts and criminal use of a communication device.

He is being held at the Somerset County Jail on $50,000 bail.
