Authorities in Blair County are providing new details about an hours-long standoff earlier this month in Altoona as officials say the suspect is now facing nearly two dozen charges, including arson and multiple counts of aggravated assault.

Police say during the early morning hours of Saturday, March 2nd, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Rosehill Drive for a "911 misdial."

Authorities say the caller, later identified as 28-year-old Tershar Miller, reportedly told police that he had a gun and threatened to shoot officers if they approached the residence.

Police say the situation lead to the evacuation of nearby residents and an 8-hour standoff with Miller.

Authorities say that throughout the 8-hour ordeal, Miller repeatedly threatened to harm police by engaging in a "shootout."

According to the affidavit, police say Miller was reportedly witnessed in possession of a handgun during the standoff.

Police say on multiple occasions, Miller reportedly exited the rear of the home, briefly, before going back inside.

Authorities say Miller is also accused of threatening to burn the home down and even attempted to do so with a "makeshift Molotov cocktail."

Police say, at one point, Miller reportedly threw the explosive device at the side of the house but officials say the bottle failed to break.

Authorities also noted that while they attempted to negotiate Miller's surrender, he reportedly told officers that he would exit the residence if police went to the Greenwood Sheetz and ordered him a chicken quesadilla.

Police say after Miller was taken into custody, he was transported to UPMC Altoona for treatment of a "self-inflicted" cut to his arm.

Authorities say officers also recovered a 9mm handgun and ammunition.

According to online court records, Miller was arraigned Thursday on a variety of charges, including arson, burglary, multiple counts of aggravated assault and making terroristic threats.

He is jailed in the Blair County Prison on $250,000 bail.
