PennDOT lifts speed restrictions on area roadways

PennDOT has lifted the temporary speed restrictions that it had issued earlier Tuesday for several area highways.

As more winter weather moves through the region Tuesday, PennDOT has issued several speed reductions for multiple area roadways.

PennDOT is also advising motorists to avoid unnecessary travel.

Officials say speeds have been reduced to 45 mph on the following roadways:

• The entirety of Interstate 99
• Route 22/322 between I-99 and Route 17 -- Millerstown

PennDOT has also reduced the speed limit to 45 mph on Interstate 80 in Jefferson and Clarion counties.

The PA Turnpike has reduced the speed limit to 45 mph, along with several vehicle restrictions.

The speed limit has also been reduced to 45 mph on Interstate 70, between Breezewood and the PA/MD line.
