BLACKLICK TOWNSHIP - The coroner's office and state police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that happened just outside of Nanty Glo Tuesday night.

State police said the man who was killed is 22-year-old Jacob Hale from Mineral Point.

Hale was found lying on Cardiff Road in Blacklick Township just before midnight, Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees said.

Hale was apparently struck by a vehicle in a dark and rural area, according to Lees.

Lees ruled Hale's death as accidental due to upper torso trauma Wednesday afternoon.

Lees said authorities are working to find the vehicle involved, which police believe was a white SUV.

A state police accident reconstruction team is assisting in the investigation.

Anyone with information on the crash is encouraged to contact police.
