SFU's Villarrial looks forward to 2020 season

JOHNSTOWN — WJAC-TV is introducing a new segment called "Coach Conversations."

We'll interview coaches in our viewing area, and air the best parts of the conversations.

The first edition of the segment starts with St. Francis head football coach Chris Villarrial.

Villarrial is entering his 11th season as head coach of the Red Flash. He's the most successful coach in program history. SFU won its only NEC championship in 2016, with Villarrial at the helm. But, the program hasn't posted a winning season since that year. So, Villarreal setup a challenging non-conference schedule for the 2020 season.

St. Francis opens the season with a Thursday-night road game at Richmond on Sept. 3. Then, the Red Flash go on the road to face their first-ever FBS opponent--Buffalo on Sept. 12.
