Mark Albin was arrested on Thursday, March 28, after Ridgefield Police responded to a disturbance at 180 Tackora Trail at 12:30 a.m., said Ridgefield Police Capt. Shawn Platt.

While taking Albin into custody for disorderly conduct, officers removed firearms from the residence for safekeeping, Platt said.

While removing the weapons, officers discovered a large cache of illegal firearms, high-capacity magazines, and an explosive device, Platt added.

Ridgefield officers contacted the Connecticut State Police Bomb Squad to remove the explosive device and defuse the device.

The department said that at no time was there a threat to the general public.

Albin was held on a $100,000 bond following his arrest. He posted $50,000 bond and is due to return to court April 11. He also posted $500 bond for the disorderly conduct charge and is due in court May 7 on that charge.
